We surprised Sebastian by driving (about four hours from Newcastle) to the Blue Mountains right after yesterday's BBQ. So technically we celebrated his birthday North American time.
The Zig Zag railway had a "Day out with Thomas".
Our bed and breakfast. It was a huge old house with a fantastic breakfast and great service.
Yes, 1876!
First Donald came into the station and did some pulling and pushing for us.
Sebastian does not like loud noises and steam train's whistles are loud.
The train of the hour, Thomas!
Thomas working hard pulling us in the coaches.
James and the fat controller (Sir Topham Hatt) were waiting for our arrival at the bottom of the zig zag line.
Contrary to their looks, they are having a good time.
Thomas needed water to haul us back up. We had about an hour down with the festivities before we had to board.
Look at the train bridge.
Finally home after about five hours. We were in around 9pm so we did a quick cupcake birthday. He is watching a e-card from the Kozdron's.
Sebastian closed his eyes until his cupcakes arrived.
Yum, icing.
