Due to the flooding this past summer in Queensland banana prices have skyrocketed. These are $14.99/kg which works out to $6.81 a pound. YES SIX DOLLARS A POUND! Needless to say there has not been a lot of banana eating going on here.
Australia is very good at keeping produce local and they will not import even in times of natural disasters. They just deal with the consequences. We do see people buying them.
I will never complain about Canadian banana prices again.
The Belconnen fresh market. Luckily it has a bouncer set up for the holidays.
We found a new park tonight and will be going for a picnic tomorrow there.
