A visit from the Fire Brigade.

This morning we went to the library's story time.  They read a cute book called Hairy Maclary. (look it up it is a great story and the author is from New Zealand).

We had found a leak in the laundry room's ceiling the night before.  The plumbers were scheduled for the following day.  Unfortunately the pipe burst and water poured through the house right at bedtime.

The shut off was a nightmare to find due to not so great directions and a jungle of a yard.  The fire brigade eventually had to be phoned and it took four fire men plus neighbours and Michael to finally locate it.  Meanwhile the house was saturated.  Sebastian and I were sweeping it out the doors until the fire men removed us due to electricity concerns.

The fire men saved the day and treated Sebastian to a demo on how to flush out the fire hydrants.  Luckily the plumber came too on an emergency call.  It was an easy fix thank goodness.
What manners!  Slurping his cereal milk, who taught him that?

Story time and a craft to follow.
Nathaniel is peeling the crayon covers, can you tell something is up by his guilty little look?

As you can see, these two are getting along much better.  Nathaniel loves wearing his back pack. I think he is ready for school too.

The waterfall and the helper.  There is a drain in the laundry room but it in no way could keep up with the amount of water.  We are lucky that it is a tile and linoleum floor.

Opening the hydrant and flushing it out.  He made Sebastian work hard.  It was amazing of him to spend time with Sebastian and show off the skills.  It definitely made an impact.
