The Bateman's Bay BirdLand Animal Park & Sanctuary.

Yes this is considered a bird sanctuary but it also claims to let you get up close and personal with Koalas, Wombats, Kangaroos and Snakes.  Around the park there were many animals to feed, most of them recovering from something.  Since my parents hadn't seen wild Kangaroos, they feared that this was as close as they were going to get.

This is Boris and he is super soft.

Nathaniel went right for his face, so we were in a bit of trouble for that.

 Feeding an Emu.

Of course there was a train ride too.
It was so hot today at 33C in the shade.  They boys (and Grandpa) weren't doing so well.
A feeding frenzy of Rainbow Lorikeets.
A brave Sebastian with a Diamond Back Python wrapped around him.

This was not my favourite part of the day (I have a brave smile on for Sebastian but inside I was screaming) and I don't think Nathaniel liked it so much either.  He couldn't lean much further away without falling out of my arms.

However, the ten month old female wombat was a huge hit.  She was incredibly soft and a bit feisty as she chewed on shoes and my mom.

Now he really has a "Feather on his cap".

It was around noon and Kangas are nocturnal.  They were lazing about but didn't say no to the food.
My mom is feeding another mommy who has a Joey in her pouch.  The legs looked huge but when it popped out its head it was really small.

Finally we saw "wild" Kangaroos.  Mom and I asked a shop keeper where to find them and she said "my front yard".  No kidding.  They weren't at all worried about me taking photos and getting rather close.  I feel bad for this persons front yard.
